About Hodeida University

Hodeidah University, in Yemen, was established in 1996, but its roots go back to the College of Education in Hodeidah, which started operating in 1987-88, as a branch of Sana'a University.

Starting with just six faculties, the university has expanded over the years. It is currently comprised of 17 colleges, including 10 qualitative colleges and several specialised scientific centres.

Each college offers a diverse range of academic programmes, from undergraduate to postgraduate level. These colleges include two education colleges; a college of commerce and economy; a college of Sharia and law; a faculty of arts; a college of marine science and environment; a faculty of physical education and sports; and a faculty of medicine and health sciences

Hodeidah University has established various educational and service centres to enhance the overall learning experience, including an information systems and technology centre, a centre for community development and continuing education and a tropical medicine centre.
