About Arak University of Medical Sciences
Arak University of Medical Sciences is a medical school located in Arak, the capital of Markazi Province, Iran.
The university is the main healthcare provider in this province, as well as being one of the largest universities in central Iran. First established in 1987, the university had the goal of educating and training new physicians.
Today it comprises multiple different hospitals and schools including Valie Asr Hospital, which is the biggest hospital in the province, and the Amirkabir Education and Treatment Centre, which is the oldest hospital in Arak and now specialises in ear, nose and throat health, paediatrics, cardiovascular medicine and psychiatry.
Due to the nature of onsite teaching, the school covers an area of more than 10,000 square metres. Along with hospitals, affiliated by Arak University of Medical Sciences, the university has laboratories, dormitories, libraries, sports centres and plenty more facilities for its students.
