About Universidad Tecnológica de Santiago (UTESA)
Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago (UTESA) was founded in 1974. Since then it has become one of the leading research institutes in the country.
The university’s main campus is located in Santiago de los Caballeros, the second largest city in the Dominican Republic.
There are also smaller campuses in the cities of Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Moca, Dajabon and Santa Cruz de Mao.
The university is organised into five faculties: architecture and engineering, health sciences, economics and social sciences, secretarial sciences, and the sciences and humanities. Each faculty offers a range of undergraduate degree programmes. There is also the graduate school offering masters courses for graduate students.
In 1993 the university set up the UTESA English School Institute. The institute receives support from the College of Education at the University of Manitoba in Canada. It offers short-term practical courses for members of the local community wishing to learn English.
