About USAMV Cluj-Napoca
Established in 1869, the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca (USAMV Cluj-Napoca) is based in Romania.
The university offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programmes, across a variety of faculties including: agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and biotechnology, veterinary medicine and food science and technology.
The majority of courses are available in Romanian however a select few are taught in French and English.
USAMV Cluj-Napoca has advisory and career guidance services from specialised consultants to introduce students to companies for employment purposes. The aim is to prepare students for interviews as well as organising job placements during academic study.
On campus, students will find dormitories and restaurants for their use. Located on campus, there’s also an agro-botanical garden which has over 2,000 plant species across approximately three hectares. It’s a place designed to study botany and conserve the biodiversity of our planet.
There’s also an aquarium within the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, Fisheries Department, which houses fish species including catfish, carp, pike, perch and bream.
Students can use the gymnasium, football field and tennis courts.
There are also plenty of student clubs for students to get involved with whether they have an interest in music, dance or community life.
The university offers a small number of scholarships designed to recognise and award academic excellence.
The university also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad. These partnerships have also paved the way for faculty exchange and advanced research opportunities.
Partnered universities include University of Parma (Italy), Chiang May University (Thailand) and Vietnam National University of Agriculture (Vietnam).
